J Scott Wolter
Drake University;1988, B.A.
I began began my financial career in 1987 as an intern at Dean Witter Reynolds in Chicago. I soon joined the firm full time as an Investment Advisor in 1988. At Dean Witter Reynolds I achieved the titles of Vice President of Investments, Option Principal, Retirement Planning Specialist, and received my Asset Allocation Charter certificate. I currently hold the series 7 and 65 securities licenses and I am insurance licensed in the fields of Life, Health, and Variable Annuities. I have been a Registered Investment Advisor since 1998. My career and education has exposed to many variations of the financial planning arena. I am well versed in the creation of trusts, wills and creative ways to transfer wealth to the next generation. My asset management style of managing risk is credited to the years of working alongside my father, who had managed assets for over 28 years. In 2000 I moved my family and practice to Ponte Vedra Beach Florida. Since the move I have worked for a few large firms as a Vice President of Investments at Robert W. Baird, Sagemark Consulting, and Raymond James. I grew tired of the constant push and pressure to sell company products and the lack of focus on clients needs so I created Wolter Capital, an independent State Registered Investment Advisory. In 2006 Wolter Capital was renamed to BroadReach Capital. I soon recognized the need for alternative investments and established The BroadReach Strategy Fund. The Fund has become the growth allocation in BroadReach Capital´s portfolio management. The BroadReach Strategy Fund and client assets of BroadReach Capital are on deposit with Charles Schwab Institutional.
